Team (NOTE: that body no
longer exists):

June 7 to Board of Selectmen, who moved it on the the Board of Finance,
who passed it along to you and me--Special Town Meeting (June 21)

going to Referendum in seven to fourteen days after. And it did
go to "the machines."

or "machine vote" on 4 items splits into "yes" for some and "no" for
others - results of
June 28, 2001 (15 votes separated winners from losers on architectural
planning money) - see

Scenario
1 - NEW THREE-FOUR-FIVE ON SCHOOL ROAD
PLUS
RENOVATIONS TO EXISTING BUILDINGS..."About Town" was not present at
June
4 meeting, but will be attending Building Committee June 5 (7:30pm,
Town
Hall) to check out the accuracy of the "facts"in
red below
- Renovate and expand
the existing high school without a field house.
- Renovate and expand the existing high
school with a field house adjacent to the high school.
- A new 3 - 5 grade
elementary school on the existing school property.
- Renovations and
additions to convert the existing middle school to a 6 - 8 grade middle
school.
- Renovations and additions to convert
the existing K - 3 grade elementary school to a Pre-kindergarten - 2
grade
elementary school.
Scenario
2 - eliminated, presumably,
because Heady site requires long term investigation and planning and is
still not a "sure thing" for intense school use.
- Renovate and expand the existing high
school without a field house.
- Renovate and expand the existing high
school with a field house adjacent to the high school.
- A new Pre-Kindergarten - 2 grade elementary
school on the Town-owned Heady Property located on the Newtown
Turnpike,
CT Route 53.
- Renovations and additions to convert
the existing 4 - 8 grade middle school to a 6 - 8 grade middle school.
- Renovations and additions to convert
the existing K-3 grade elementary school to a 3 -5 grade elementary
school.
Scenario
3 - NO NEW BUILDING, JUST RENOVATIONS...
- Renovate and expand the existing high
school without a field house.
- Renovate and expand the existing high
school with a field house adjacent to the high school.
- Renovations and additions to convert
the existing 4 - 8-grade middle school to a 5 - 8 grade middle school.
- Renovations and additions to convert
the existing K - 3 grade elementary school to a Pre-kindergarten - 4
grade
elementary school.
Scenario
4 - No new land available, according to authorities.
- Construct a new high school on a site
to be determined without a field house. Construct a new high
school
on a site to be determined with a field house adjacent to new high
school.
- Convert the existing high school to
a middle school for grades 6 - 8.
- Convert the existing middle school to
a grade 3 - 5 elementary school.
- Convert the existing elementary school
to a Pre-K to 2 elementary school.
