Double-Elimination Tournament coming to an end - down to the final two teams (not WILD THINGS, unfortunately, see notes above):
TUESDAY, August 2nd, the Columbus Gym team played Peter's Spirits--back to the wall for Columbus Gym, having been beaten Monday by Peter's Spirits--Columbus Gym revives and forces another contest...with First Selectman in the crowd...FINAL GAME WEDNESDAY EVENING!

Regular Season 2005:    4 wins, 4 losses (2 games rained out)

Game one - against 20-30-40, Thursday. June 23 - W (21-5); Camden Thomas WILD THINGS youngest cheerleader - he made the difference in our first game against 20-30-40 Somethings, along with other young WILD THINGS in training!!!

Game two - against Weed Wackers, Monday, June 27 - W (24-21: called because of darkness).  It was reported to the website that...it was a great game with 2004 Champion Weed Wackers - everyone hit well (on both teams) and we were ahead when darkness fell.  Congratulations to both teams for knowing when enough is enough...next time we may not be ahead when the game gets called...as they say, that's the way the ball bounces!

Game three - against Jailbirds, Tuesday, June 28 - called off by Parks and Rec @4pm (fields must have been really wet and slippery).

Game four - against 20-30-40, Wednesday, June 29 - rain out?

Game five - against Peter's Spirits, Thursday, July 7 - close game, but we lost, 13-8.

Game six - against Weed Wackers, Monday, July 11 - close game but we won, 12-7.

Game seven - against Columbus Gym, Tuesday, July 12 - we lost, 12-2, or 2-12, but game was tied or only a one-run deficit until late innings--when out fly balls (or ground balls) went straight into opponents gloves, like they were magnetized!  But the hots dogs were great and the rain held off!!!  Girls Babe Ruth League held State Finals on Firld #3, right next door!

Game eight - against Jail Birds, Monday, July 18 - we lost on a hot, sticky night with thunderboomers in the distance (the game went the full 7 innings);  Jail Birds much improved!

Game nine - against Columbus Gym, Tuesday, July 19 - we played a great game all around, but lost, 6-3 to Columbus Gym (they were actually getting nervous).

Game ten - against Peter's Spirits, Thursday, July 21 - what a way to finish off the season...we beat Peter's Spirits 11-9!  Inspired play by all!!!
