THE ON-LINE, UNOFFICIAL VERSION "GUIDED TOUR OF W.I.S.":
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2005 4-6 P.M. (another scheduled for Saturday, September 10, 2005 from 10am to 12 Noon)

We got to see the inside of the new
Weston Intermediate School on Friday afternoon. Our tour began
with a greeting from the P.T.O. and Administration in the
CAFETORIUM. Check out the STAGE! Our guides were young
techies from fifth grade. This was their first shot at the
script, and they did wonderfully--adding a few spots as we asked
questions. First stop was the GYM, where the Weston High School
girl's volleyball team was practicing. PLAYSCAPE at the end of
the hall provided by the P.T.O.

CLASSROOMS all have monitors, whiteboards, lots of wallspace to put up
meaningful lesson visuals and each student has his or her own cubbyhole
and two cloths hooks. First floor has third grades (left);
fourth and fifth on second floor (center} - teracher still finishing up
the week here! At right, a view of the courtyard below...

And the LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER (LRC),
which is curved, in the center of the building (see architectural drawing) and helps everyone,
students especially, see the light! Thanks to Chair. of the Ribbon
Cutting Committee for organizing not only these tours, but her years of
service on the Board of Education! (See photo below - including Weston High School student from their newspaper on a mission.)

CONGRATULATION TO FLETCHER-THOMPSON DESIGNERS!
