July 6,
2000: prior to the 7:30pm meeting, at 6:30pm, the Committee
"walked"
sections of Bisceglie Park where groundwater discharge might be held
for
21 days prior to release to the West Branch of the Saugatuck.

Weston Town
Hall is located within the "superblock" of school campus, library,
firehouse,
Norfield Church, Department of Public Works and the first Historic
District
in town.

At the third
meeting of the Select Committee...the Town Engineer reported that the
elementary
school is located on the best land on campus for natural septic
treatment.
Could systems be built under the locations above--or are they already
being
used? Could existing systems be modified to meet the needs for
Hurlbutt
far into the future? Left to right: Hurlbutt Library,
"Kinderland"
portables, Board of Education Headquarters, Weston High School, Weston
Middle School, W.M.S. portables, more W.M.S. portables...

On Old Hyde
Road, in the midst of a lovely residential neighborhood, is the
Department
of Public Works Garage - a most attractive building, set back from the
road. The Jarvis Military Academy site, Town Hall and other
public
places are not under orders to upgrade as are the schools. A
search
for Town-owned land with good septic suitability is on. The last
picture in this series, a current photograph of the Weston Town Hall,
is
one view where the cellular tower for communications for emergency
service
as well as private companies is not visible.
